Why SleepOut

Why SleepOut

We build hope and
our mission is to end homelessness

By giving up one night in your bed, you’ll help raise awareness and critical funds for Matthew’s Light as we bring food, clothing, shoes, hygiene items, dignity, and compassion to those living on the streets. At the same time, you’ll be fueling our larger vision, Cana Village, a 110-acre, 500-home community that will offer safe housing, counseling, education, job training, and so much more to help rebuild lives.
SleepOut is more than a fundraiser, it’s a chance to stand in solidarity with our unhoused neighbors and take part in creating a future where everyone has a place to belong.

How SleepOut Began

From Compassion to Community Action

What started as Matthew’s Light’s mission to uplift vulnerable populations has grown into a city-wide movement. By sleeping out, participants connect with the cause in a personal, meaningful way—raising both awareness and essential funds. Each year, more people join, more stories are told, and more lives are transformed.
